Edit and Export Charts

A) Login to https://app.chartblocks.com using the login in 1Password

B) For each market, edit the Days on Market and Sales Price charts with the following instructions:

  1. Click on the chart to open it
  2. Click on “Data” on the left
  3. For each series, change the “From row” number and the “To row” number, depending on the quarter
    1. For Q1: 1 & 4
    2. For Q2: 4 & 7
    3. For Q3: 7 & 10
    4. For Q4: 10 & 13
  4. Hover over the download button on the top right of the screen and click “PNG”

C) Move the images into the Presentations > Links folder for each respective market in the Product Illuminate drive

Gather Current Market Statistics and Write Analysis

For each market, create a new Google doc from the Postcards template, then find and enter the following information:

For SLC

Months of Inventory Number

A) Login to https://utahrealestate.com/auth/login/

B) Go to Statistics > Absorption Report, enter the following criteria, and click “View Results”

  • Change the Calc Method to “Sold + U/C”
  • County: Salt Lake County

C) Write down the Inventory number under the “6 Months” column in the Google Doc

Note: if the number is less than one, simply write <1

Days on Market Number

A) Go to Statistics > Sales Per Month Report

B) Make sure County: Salt Lake is still chosen and click “View Results”

C) Write down last month’s Mdn CDOM number in the Google doc

Sales Price Number

A) Using the same results from above, write down last month’s Mdn Sold $ number in the Google doc

Write Analysis

Using the data as a guide, write an analysis of the current quarter’s expectations

Open Presentation Templates and Copy/Paste Data

A) Navigate to the market’s pre-listing presentations folder at Google Drive > Product Illuminate > Markets > {Market} > Presentations > Pre-Listing Presentations

B) Find the template file with the name Pre-Listing Presentation_{Market} Template.indd and open it

Note: if it asks you to update any modified links, choose “Update Modified Links”

C) Navigate to page two and, using the information in the Google Doc, update each of the following paragraphs and stats:

On page two:

  • Homes Sold Paragraph
  • Months of Inventory Number
  • Days on Market Paragraph
  • Days Number

On page three:

  • Sales Price Paragraph
  • Median Sales Price Number

D) Save the file

E) Select all items in the “Quarterly Stats” layer and press CMD + C (CTRL + C on PC) to copy the elements

F) Navigate to the market’s buyers presentations folder at Google Drive > Product Illuminate > Markets > {Market} > Presentations > Buyers Presentations

G) Find the template file with the name Buyers Presentation_{Market} Template.indd and open it

Note: if it asks you to update any modified links, choose “Update Modified Links”

H) Select all items in the “Quarterly Stats” layer and delete them

I) Paste in place (OPT + SHIFT + CMD + V or Edit > Paste in Place) all items you copied in sub-step E above

Edit and Save Each Customer's Presentations

A) Navigate to the market’s pre-listing presentations folder at Google Drive > Product Illuminate > Markets > {Market} > Presentations > Pre-Listing Presentations

B) For each customer’s file, open the file and do the following:

Note: if it asks you to update any modified links, choose “Update Modified Links”

  1. Select all items on the “Quarterly Stats” layer
  2. Delete all items
  3. Go to Edit > Paste in Place to paste in place the items you copied in the previous step (CMD + Option + Shift + V for Mac)
  4. If you see blue stripes on the left side of each text box, open the Options menu in the Paragraph Styles panel and click “Clear Overrides”
  5. Make sure no files in the Links panel are missing. If they are, select the link, click “Relink…”, search for the filename, and re-link the file.
  6. Go to File > Adobe PDF Presets… > High Quality Print…, navigate to the customer’s Presentations folder in their Public Folder, click Save, and click Export
  7. Save the file. NOTE: if InDesign has updated to a new version, you may need to “Save As…” to save in the latest version format.
